Start a job by connecting a device
Selected files and folders are automatically backed up and synchronized. Users who wish to save their data to an external storage medium can take advantage of the integrated plug-and -play functionality which backs up and synchronizes selected files and folders automatically. To optimize the memory requirements, the user can specify the maximum number of backups that should be saved so that old ones are automatically replaced by new images. To offer increased data security the program also clearly displays those drives that have not yet been imaged or backed up so that the user can bring their security up-to-date.
Direct creation of VHDs
O&O DiskImage can also directly create a virtual hard disk (VHD). Until now users had to first create an image and then convert it. This intermediate process is no longer required.
Simplified wizard for creating and modifying jobs
We have directly addressed this problem and integrated a built-in wizard that accompanies a user step by step through the creation of an automatic data backup. This significantly easier to use backup functionality enables even novice users to create a reliable and fast backup of their data immediately.
Create a Windows Boot system
O&O DiskImage can bring a system back to life immediately and with no installation required. It does so by way of a Boot Medium (USB Stick or CD/DVD) which is based on the currently installed Windows system and which contains all the standard drivers required.
FAT is the oldest data system, the roots of which go back to MS DOS. It is supported by Windows. O&O DiskImage can be used without any problem on FAT drives.
FAT32 is the native file system of Windows 95b/98/Me. It offers some advantages compared to the older FAT. FAT32 drives are Windowssupported by default and can be defragmented without any problem using O&O DiskImage.
The NT file system was developed completely new for the Windows NT family. It offers the option of security restrictions on the file level, increases the security against data errors, and achieves higher performance. It is supported by Windows.
